well i set the amp with my dmm according to the 56.56v setting and it sounds pathetically wimpy. my gain winds up being set at about 1/4. if i turn my comps amp down to match the the sub the whole system sounds like its powered off a headunit. back the way it was. thanks anyway squeak! :-)

i have a PPI PCX2200(2x200@4ohms) powering a single JL 12w6v2 set in series(8ohm) and bridged. is it (400*8)sqrt? i come up with 56.56v that way. or (400*4)sqrt? 40v that way. Thanks for any help!

if you set your sub in series for an 8 ohm load and then bridge the amp, the amp sees an 8 ohm load, not 4 ohms per side. the sides arent cumulative as in 4 ohm s+ 4 ohms = 8 ohms. its just plain 8 ohms. the amp either feeds 4 ohms or 8 ohms, it doesnt split it up. the amps power flows from the...

dont ever buy speaker carpet. go to a fabric store and buy "FELT". stronger then speaker carpet, just as flexible/moldable, comes in dozens of colors(funky and standard) and 1/4 the price. the only difference is the felt isnt as fuzzy. check it out. the red one is felt, the gray one is speaker...

well i dont have the new DCX series but i have the last series PCX. I love em. have them 1.5 years now and PPI is all ive owned for 12+ years or so. never a days problem and always underrated wattagewise. I do think the new ones are fugly though. i guess no biggie if they perform.
