    Spare Tire Subwoofer

@itcharles. I have been doing some math and there is no way I can fit a sundown. So I am stuck with the ts-sw3002s4, which I don't think is too much of a problem. I just need to figure out an amp. One thing to take into consideration is that I don't have an amp for my mids right now. The head...

    Spare Tire Subwoofer

What is so wrong with the pioneer shallow mounts? I know they are no sundowns, but they are much more thin (stay true to an actual shallow mount) and reviewers have left great reviews and say they sound great considering their size. Have you personally listened to one in an optimized setup?

    Spare Tire Subwoofer

Thanks for the advice itcharles! I went out and bought most of the supplies needed to make the enclosure. I have not bought the sub yet. I am going to start the build and see where I end up and how much space I have. Here is a photo of what I got. The items may not be the highest quality, but...

    Spare Tire Subwoofer

The depth I have is about 3.75 inches... if I am lucky. I also checked my volume ( of the spare tire, keep in mind that it may be less because the fiberglass will take up room and any error in my measurements). I set a garbage bag in he center of the tire and filled it up with water untill it...

    Spare Tire Subwoofer

So I was looking and found a sundown that is $50 more than I would like to spend, but I could afford it (thanks for pointing me in the direction of car audio bargain itcharles). The only problem was despite it being of their SD series (...

    Spare Tire Subwoofer

Thanks, I will take your word for it and look into the sundowns. I think the shallow mounts could possibly handle being ported because the 8in does even need an enclosure and the twelve works off a small enclosure. If you don't mind looking, this is the one I was thinking about buying...

    Spare Tire Subwoofer

Thanks for the help! I am definitely going to go through with it. I looked a the sundowns (and they are really nice), but I bit out of my price range if I want to do a fiberglass box. I have heard/read great things about pioneers ib flat shallow subwoofers...

    Spare Tire Subwoofer

Hey! that look pretty good! Here are some questions I have. You don't have to answer all of them as it's just me typing everything I'm thinking : p. How does it sound, and is the sub you used an 8in? Does a fiber glass enclosure of that size provide enough volume for your sub? If my fiberglass...

    Spare Tire Subwoofer

Hey everyone! I am thinking about custom making a fiber glass subwoofer enclosure that uses the extra space inside a spare tire ( http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-interior-modifications/38915-diy-fiberglass-spare-sub-box-56k-beware-tons-pics.html). I have seen some good reviews on it, as well...

Not sure where the "subwoofer" hyper links came from, sorry about that

Need a Sub & Amp. Not sure what types or wattage/ohms.

Thank you for the reply! I have a budget of about $260 and my main priority is to get a subwoofer. My midranges are fine and my head unit supplies enough power so they don't have to be amped, but in the future I plan on upgrading it. So, here are my ideas, and it will probably be a long long...

Need a Sub & Amp. Not sure what types or wattage/ohms.

I am new to car audio and I need some help setting up my new system. I chose a more ameture all Pioneer system due to budget. I have installed the Pioneer AVH-X5800bhs head unit (RMS; 22 watts per channel), Pioneer TS-A1685R 4 way speakers (RMS; 60 watts ), and TS-T110 tweeters (RMS; 40 watts)...
