I am assuming that because you dont have power at both the LOC and the amp that they are powered from the same place. I would look there. do you have a voltage meter that you could borrow?

I've got a JL 300/4 that lost a channel last week. Troubleshot it the next day. Checked all connections, swapped rca channels, tried known good speaker. Definitely no output from the front left channel. When I left work last night and it was back working! Must be a cold solder joint or a loose...

Thanks guys. I'll try to set the gains on my amps with HU lowered. I never go full volume anyways. Just weird to me that the signal going in was unclipped.
