Budget- $250 Needed SQL sub (either 10" or 12") that can play low and loud (but clean ) enough in a maximum ported enclosure of 1.25^3. I would like to port the enclosure as low as possible. Sub needs to have dual, 4-ohm coils. Amp will be a Boston Acoustics GT-22 (500 rms x 2-ohm mono load).

Thanks Squeak, I just read PAC's Passive Crossovers made easy. I see that adding a 4-ohm coil would give me the 2-ohm load, but with a 6db (75%) loss of power.

Can you use a crossover to change the impedence load presented to an amp? I.E.- Can I use a crossover to provide a 2-ohm load to an amp using a single 4-ohm VC sub? If possible, what design would I use?

I am using Win ISD beta to calculate the parameters of a vented enclosure for a Crystal Mobilesound CMP 10. The port lengths are insane. Are these correct? 3"D X 16.86L" with a vent mach of .20 or 4"D X 30.95"L with a vent mach of .11 Are these numbers legit? The enclosure given is .95ft^3...
