Also the low volts can cause distortion. When the subs hit it takes away the power of the deck or 2nd amp

get an digital ohm meter this will tell you your ohms load and check the ground for you A meter is your best friend

That would do it. I have the same truck as you. its hard to hit loud in that w/o a wall af 4 good subs so i use a jeep cherokee for dbs
