    ID12v3....they wired the sub wrong?

I've actually done that. Yes it worked fine when the smoke cleared.

    ID12v3....they wired the sub wrong?

No biggie...It is my OPINION that I feel it is safer to use 1.5 volt than 9v. It is a FACT that 1.5v can be used to check polarity.

    ID12v3....they wired the sub wrong?

I'm not going to disagree, I was just trying to make a point that 1.5 is probably safer. The other guy was trying to take credit because he knew that a AA would not work when in fact it works fine. .56 watts (1.5v) is plenty enough to make a speaker jump for polarity checks. That was the point...

Sure you have....You also said 4 posts earlier that you knew 1.5V wouldnt work...I am actually looking for a new set of subs, let me know who these professional sub builders are so I know which ones to avoid. Bill Nye 101

AA battery works fine. I just did this test 6 days ago. And yes although it is a little awkward, it is still safer than putting 9v into your new speakers. 1.5 volts makes a speaker jump pretty good already.

    Help With My 8 Inches!!

Ya, I'm crushed about the SS too. It's a custom box (QLogic) to fit a Dakota under the rear fold down seats and only gives me 5" depth, the SS is 5.65"! There's a big ID sale on at CarDomain right now too, unfortunately the 8" is not available. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Actually use a AA, 9v may be too much. If you reverse the polarity using a battery, be careful, the wires get **** hot.

    60 watts RMS enough?

Thx for the replies. Other than that, the setup looks ok? PowerNaudio, the DB6750's are rated at 92 dB. FR is 35-22,000 HZ. There's actually not much to listen to around here, but I had a chance to hear the Infinty Reference 6010's which sounded pretty good off a HU although a little bright, so...

    60 watts RMS enough?

Getting ready to start ordering pieces for my 2002 Dakota and sort of put a plan together but would like some feedback. All will be running off last years Alpine HU which I have already. I chose the JBL GTO 6 channel amp to run all 4 speakers and sub. This way I can put the sub under driver...
