Just ground the green wire. Just so you know, this will allow video to play while your vehicle is in motion. I'm not sure this will have any effect on your particular problem.

I too was looking at the 305, but it lost out the Kenwood KIV-700. Bigger screen, 4V Pre-amps, 5000 more recognnized files, internal memory (good for wallpaper), USB hub ready, choice of illumination color, plays mp4 avi and wmv videos. I paid $240 shipped.

What speakers are you running? If your highs are too harsh, I assume they are aftermarket. If so, check to see if you have a -3db (or similar) option on the speakers or on the crossovers going to the speakers. Some models have a button on the tweeter. Some have a switch on the crossover...
