Yes you are correct. The hole is not in the cone. If i look inside the hole i can see the cone. Im pretty sure this is just for cosmetic... can anyone confirm? The pic below is what my speaker looks like.

I have a 13.5 JL W7 which has a hole poked through the dust cap. I have a few questions; Does anyone know where I can get a replacement dust cap? How do i remove the dust cap? Does the hole effect the performance of the sub? Thanks guys.

JL wanted 500 to recone my blown W7. Now i have a 13.5 W7 and i cracked the "dust cap?". Should i just pull the "dust cap" off? Any1 know where ican buy a replacement?

Yes im using the factory HU. I have a hi/lo converter maybe i need to tune it. I had this same wiring setup with my last system. A 500/1 and a W6 and i never had cut outs. The Amp is showing a low voltage light so i think its a power issue for sure, but ill check out what you sugested anyway bc...

Im going to shorten up my power and grounds and set the gain properly tonight with the volt meter.

Im just saying i wired the sub at 3ohms. Just trying to give as much info. I just bough a voltmeter, when i get home im going to set the gains. I forgot to menntion the AMP is droping below 11v during the cutoffs, its definitly a power issue.
