    Lets get it started...

I will be installing a pair of subwoofers in the rear side panels of my GTO. Theres quite a few people that have gone this route and have had excellent results with stuff like the IDQ 10, and similar subs that have a shallow mounting depth. I would do the IDQs or even JL w3v2s but i wanted an...

    $400 for xmas!

That is actually a very doable option, many people have been able to place a pair of 10s in the rear side panels. There is enough room behind those panels to build a mdf box, or fiberglass that suits shallow mounting depth subwoofers. Theres a few guys that have tried out the IDQ v2 10s and...

    $400 for xmas!

I'd probably run something like an ed nine.1, i hear its a great amp, and i think it looks better than anything out there, so build it around that amp. IF you look closely at the picture there is about a 2 inch indented area on the front wall of the trunk. Id like to put my box up in that...

that would be way tight but space is an issue so its gotta be sealed and gotta be 12.

    $400 for xmas!

I recieved some cash for christmas so that makes it soo much easier to jump in. im thinking either jump on the RE group buy and get 2 SE 12 or doing one SI MAG d2 12. If both are sealed, i know the Mag has the better SQ, but would it be comparable output wise to the 2 SEs?

    2 13 Ov.2 vs 1 MAG d2

    nine.1 -> 12 w7

Im not positive on anything yet, but ill probably be getting a 12 w7 soon. The eD nine.1 looks like a really nice amp, is affordable, and has the look i want for my install. Would this be a good amp for the dub7?

    Fiberglass ported box plans

I might end up doing a sealed enclosure in the corner just to keep things simple, especially since ive never had a system before. What are some subs that would do extremely well in a sealed enclosure? Ya i want it to get loud, thats why im spending all of this money...im thinking i should just...

    Fiberglass ported box plans

In the picture, the red line shows how far left a conventional box would be able to fit, this would be working with about 17.5in of depth(leaving about 2-3 in of spacing) and 16 in of height. With these dimensions, a suitable box for this woofer would have to be over 23in past the red line...

    Fiberglass ported box plans

As i posted earlier in the subwoofer section, i am planning on putting a 12in RL-p in the trunk of my Gto. This car has a very small trunk, so i want to keep the most amount of space possible. Would be possible to make a fiberglass mold from the left side of the trunk, then build an mdf box...

    Ported box for Rl-p 12

i was also just thinking about how much space should there be between the box and the trunk lid?

    Ported box for Rl-p 12

ill probably do something very similar then....im imagining how sexy the nine.1 would look next to the rl-p all squeezed into my Gto's tiny trunk

    Ported box for Rl-p 12

I dont think ill be building this box myself yet. This will be my first car system, so id rather have someone who knows what theyre doing make it perfect. ive been messing around on Ed's website building boxes and noticed i can easily make the volume larger by increasing the tuning frequency...
