With RCAs, I think it's more important that you route it correctly and away from power cables etc to get a clean signal. I would have to think howerver that there is a difference between the good cables that cost like 100 bucks from TIF or monster cable vs. ones from kragen that cost 5 bucks.

exactly which CDT model are you talking about? I've never heard of Alpine type X, just S and R. The Type R is good, but not that great IMHO. Consider the infinity kappa perfects. They are int he same price range and I like those better.
