my old phoenix gold xenon did take a while to break in. Sounded MUCH better after breakin. I do still think the XXX is more suited for home theatre though since it performs better is such a massive box. Check out the HT forums, those guys have XXX drivers in 25cube enclosures!

we did several mockups, comes up to 5cubes. Did I pick the wrong driver? Do I need something like 10cubes sealed for a 15 XXX? If so, I can go with an AA or Fi driver if necessary and use the XXX for a HT project?

I"ve ran 2 12" rsdc off a rsd1200.1. the 2 12" close to your budget and should get you close to your 4 10's. The RSDc are notorious for being able to handle MUCH more than the rated 600rms. I had a 12 rsdc at 1000rms daily for months, never had a problem

I ran 1000wrms daily into a single 12" RSDc, rated at 600rms. Sub is still going strong, never a problem. It's bottomed out on several occasions, but apparently no damage... YMMV
