I have the 9833 and the alp1 and it works just fine. The only issue is everytime you switch to satelite mode the display will say "xm radio" but only for a second or two. After that everything works perfectly.

I asked this question several months ago and was told no you can't. But I was also told that the preouts are isolated from the internal amp so no worries about sound quality being degraded.

well nevermind I just won an ebay auction for a alpine 9833 for $223.00... Lol I didn't think I would get it at that price since it has been tested and comes with a warranty.

I've saving up to buy this radio. Can the internal power be turned off if you run all amps? when you use sirius with it, can it display both the artist name and the music title simultaneously?

I have a 9853 and the same thing happened to me after I also got sirius. I dunno what causes it.
