    You can use the foam gasket material that is used to seal around doors/windows, if you want to go the cheap route. It usually comes in a roll in various widths/thicknesses to suit your needs.

    You are typically better off setting your gains by ear other than striving for some specific value. Setting them to full power according to amp output voltage will likely overpower the speakers in a normal listening environment. The goal is to sound good to you after all. Does the right/left...

    Going active on a MB Quart DSC4125 - too much power?

    The amp doesn't "only" produce 125watts per channel, it can do 0-125 watts. Keep your gains down on the tweeter channel and/or keep you HU volume down. Its not that big of a deal, I had a 3000watt amp on a 300watt sub with no problems. I also have a DSC4125, the input sensitivity isn't that high.

    Depending on space, you could try something like 4 15's ported. Try something that can use a small box like nightshades etc...

    the grounding fix does substitute a wire for a fuse. You really should put a fuse in there but no one does. It can help prevent burning up circuit board traces.
