    Sundown SA-12 Klippel Test

The BL asymmetry is usually not coil offset, but rather B asymmetry above vs below gap. Its quite common in just about all overhung motors i have dealt with unless you undercut the t-yoke and have a very wide ID on the magnet. You can see the BL is higher when the coil is in the gap which is...

    MMMM Tc sexines

I'll bite! new 3hp radial neo..pulls 231 N^2/watt with the axis top assembly. Currently postponed due to recent price inflation of neo... the dam'n stuff tripped in the last few months :P

Xmax/Excursion. What subs have the most?

high sensitivity, high xmax, high linearity for expensive subs, pick any 2. most of the time, just pick 1.

Calling BS on "breaking in" subwoofers, prove me wrong.

nitpick: The Re can't be the same for the hot coil and the BL can't be different.. I'm guessing the second test used the original Re value and then calculated an artificially low BL value? Either way, you get the right Qts and SPL, but its technically the wrong way of doing it. The Re of the...

Help!!! Scion TC FI Q 18

I'm suggesting an 11dB is not realistic by showing you need to make a stupid box to do it. My advice is 6.3 cubic feet tuned to 27Hz this yields a Chebyshev Butterworth alignment and should sound great with a lot more low 30Hz output than the sealed option.

Help!!! Scion TC FI Q 18

More power is not how you go about getting 11dB more. Drivers won't even yield that much displacement. 139 -what you got off about 1000W 142 2,000W 145 4,000W 148 8,000W 151 16,000W You need to do w hat everyone else does - make a ported box tuned to 50Hz and forget using this for music.

    Why invert the subs?

It really doesn't save much volume or change much of anything -even big subs take up a very small % of the box volume. It's relativity unimportant compared to other factors. However, some subs don't really fit in some places so reversing them can help get them into places they normally wouldn't...

    decent t/s tester?

Praxis, by liberty instruments, is probably one the best systems you can get for TSP's, it's more expensive than wt. Liberty Instruments also designed the dayton omni mic which will do freq. response, distortion, etc all inside one hand-held device that only requires a USB right to your lab-top...

    decent t/s tester?

I use Praxis because it has more features but its all 1000 bucks. I have found that there is not much difference in the TSP's between the too, but praxis is a lot nicer with many more features. Having said that, there is really no point in doing that unless you really don't trust the mfr's...

    Tc-3000 vs. Axis

Most of the differences are described here New TC Product information - TC Forums xmax did not drop, its just spec'ed differently, the coil actaully grew a little

    Sub question...

It short for "high power" as in high performance or high BL for TC Sounds motors. The unique feature of the HP motors is the tall 1.4" gap plate and generally they come with flatwound coils, although the original 3HP's for the Eclipse Titanium's were not flat wound. The Ti Pro's were. The...
