Hi guys
I used RE Audio to design this box and was wondering if its okay to mount the driver on the opposite side of the Ported slot.
I am doing this because I wanted the port going through my ski pass due to the design of my car. Thanks!
So I had to revamp what I was doing.
I am going with a wedge because the previous box design would not be able to put the sub in and out of the trunk.
I still don't understand how to make a single port in the middle for 2 boxes, so I have come up with the solution of building 2 identical...
Awesome I think I will use your technique....8 awg would be enough? Or should I go down to 4 awg?
And I'm assuming I should point the sub's back?
And lastly, how to bolt this thing down? I destroyed my last sub because I didn't bolt down well enough. (Did a donut, came loose and screw tore...
Wow, Thanks so much DNick! Lets just say I didn't really know what I was doing with ReAudio.
I took a peek at the manual and it says the Mounting Diameter is 10.9", but that is the hole I cut and not the ~13" outer diameter you are referring to?
Will any old speaker terminal work?
And lastly...
Thanks for the reply ProjectPechkin!!
Alright so I am running into some confusion.
Here is my plans according to Bass Box Pro.
4.4 + Disp @ 35 roughly
Here are the vents.
But when I plug it into the RE-Audio Calculator. (same Dimensions)
I get 2.8 Sq Ft. @ 43 hz?
If my Bass Box Pro...
So I am building a Ported Box for 2 Alpine Type R's, I'm shooting for roughly 4 - 4.4 cubic Feet @ 35 Hz
I was hoping for some guidance with the design.
I really wish I could just use the free box designs but the boxes are too wide for my car.
My trunk Dimensions are, 17 in (height) x 31 in...
Awesome enclosure, I have 2 12 Type R's and need a Box to fit my 328i Trunk.
How did you come up with the Volume necessary for the 2 12's I think for a vented 1 the manual said 1.7cubic feet, maybe its different if its 2 next to each other.
You think something like this is do-able for a noob...
My AMP is ARC Audio 1500-XXK Amp. (Stereo @ 2 ohms = 2 x 450 watts)
(Bridged @ 4 ohms = 1 x 900 watts)
(Bridged @ 2 ohms = 1 x 1000 watts)
Currently I have one Alpine TYPE R SWR-1242D, and another blown one.
Power Handling Capacity (RMS): 500W
Power Handling Capacity (Peak): 1500W)
Should...
Xenon X100.4 amp. (4x100w rms at 1-4 ohms in stereo)
2 Kicker RS 56.2 5.25" (90 RMS 180 peak)
and 4 Infinity Kappa 42.7i (2-50 watts RMS (150 watts peak) 2 ohms
I'm thinking the 2 front to the Kickers, and then 2 of the Infinities in Parallel for one of the rears, and 2 of the Infinities in...
Ok so I'm finally tackling a project thats been lurking around for 2- 3 years, I have everything except the wires, and FINALLY graduated so its time to fix a few things up in my junker.
Is E-bay okay, any stores with decent quality wire? (Does it even matter?)
Anything to look for when "wire...
Alright so I have the 500 watt RMS 2nd Generation Type R.
Should I use both Jumpers and have 2 ohms going into the ARC xxk1500 bridged, which will yield 1000 watts.
Is that a bad idea?
Not sure how many watts I should feed to the Type R. I'm going to borrow a friend's voltmeter to measure it...
I am not sure if 2 Type R's would be under powered by my sub. And also, I am not sure if I would have to get both 1st generation. Not sure if my current one is the older version, but I'd assume it is, since I got it about 2 years ago.
