So how can I wire the speakers to the head unit without using the phono jacks? Please excuse my ignorance, I'm new to this.

To the speakers via extra wire, yes of course, I know that I can't connect those direct to the speaker terminals. I mean not via an amplifier, which would eliminate the need for these.

Should I use 4 of these to connect the RCA cables from the head unit to the woofers and tweeters...
