Using these for couple of rear batteries, but would it be ok to use 4 gauge negative w/ 1/0 positive leads?

My buddy gave me a pair of 15" Kove subs. Cannot find a model number or any specs on it. they weigh nearly 50lb a piece, so they are tanks. How can I find out what ohm they are? Possibly with DMM? Looking to get wired soon, so please help. Thanks everyone!
