Thanks guys it worked. I had to adjust the tuner to -9 and the volume was pretty much equal between the iPod and tuner.

I tried looking for that adjustment level in the setup menu. Even the installer and someone who knows alot about Kenwood products said there was no sound adjustment level for the DDX812. Would you mind explaining how to get to the sound adjustment level? Has anyone experience this problem...

I was looking for something that could match the volumes, but couldn't find anything. My Pioneer HU has a SLA adjustment, but I don't think the Kenwood has one. I will also check my ipod to see the recording levels. Any more suggestions? Thanks.
