Kenwood DDX812 - iPod/DVD question...

Just wanted to know what the "PBC" is and how do I turn it on or off? I know you need it "on" to go foward or backwards in a scene and "off" when you want to go foward or backwards to the next track. Also, when I am watching a video using my ipod, when I want to go foward or backwards and touch the screen on the left or right side, it goes back and forth between the 2 movies on my ipod. Is there any way to go foward or backwards whether it is a scene or track when using my ipod to watch a movie? I went to a screen that has all the functions, but I can't see the movie, so if I wanted to fast foward a scene I wouldn't be able to know where to stop. Also, my friend who has the same HU was told by the sales guy that he needs the remote to do all the functions when watching a movie. Is that true? I hope it is something really simple that I am over looking. Thanks for any help.
