4 Gauge to 0 Gauge input (output)

Hey, I'm in the process of upgrading my big 3. But I've ran into a considerably small problem. I have this http://i.imgur.com/D5uFx.jpg on my positive battery terminal. It has an output for 4 gauge, 0 gauge and (2) for 8 gauge. Problem is I'm using the 4 gauge for one amp and the new cable I...

What is my systems total wattage? And which gauuge wire?

I have a JBL BP1200.1 which is rated at 1200w RMS at 2 ohms. And a 4 channel JBL Cs60.4 amp rated at 80w rms at 2 ohms. The 1200w amp is wired to a 4 ohm 12" type r rated at 600w rms. The 4 channel amp is hooked up to Sound Ordnance P-69 rated at 55w rms at 4 ohms. And infinity components...

Before I gut my car and install everything..

Using a power distributor was my original plan. I actually bought a 0 gauge wire (a bit overkill I realize now) and the distro. But I figured the 8 gauge is already there so might as well just keep it and run a separate wire. Just wanted to get some opinions before following through with it, thanks

Before I gut my car and install everything..

I'm getting everything I need together piece by piece and will be installing most of it this weekend. Before I do, please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong or any suggestions you have before I do all the work. The equipment: Amplifiers: JBL cs60.4 - 4 channel amplifier 145w 2 ohms rms...

Just picked up a JBL BP1200.1 for $60

Oh, that wouldn't be good, ha. Can you tell me how not to destroy it? This is my first system I'm setting up. The sub actually has it's own fuse on the terminal, will that help? The type r is capable of 600w rms (4 ohms) and that's the max output (4 ohms) by the amplifier. So how will it get...

Just picked up a JBL BP1200.1 for $60

Don't have it installed yet, but going to use it to power 1 12" Type R. Older product, but from what I've read it's a quality amplifier. Good for $60?

Turn off bass completely with HPF?

Why is that? This is the first time I'm setting up a custom sound system. I figured it would be good just to add some fill to the car, especially for the rear passengers.

Turn off bass completely with HPF?

They are a good pair of speakers (well they were) and the tweeters on them are great. (JBL GTO938's) So, there's no way to turn off the bass completely? Even if I put the HPF up on the head unit and the amplifier?

Turn off bass completely with HPF?

I have a pair of JBL speakers that are both blown. But I don't really need the bass considering I have a sub right behind them and my front speakers also provide some bass. So I want to put these speakers in my rear deck just for some fill. Basically just use them as tweeters. Can I set the...

One amp to power a sub and 4 speakers?

Is this impossible? I have a 12" type r sub (rated at 300-600w rms) Infinity components (rated at 75w rms) and Alpine type r 6x9's (rated at 100w rms) Is there no solution for me other than to run two separate amps without sacrificing too much power for the sub? I know I can get a power...

    Amp & Speaker Quality

My question in short: My speakers are distorted at slightly high volumes. Does this mean I need an amp? I know an amp does two things: Provides more power to make the speakers louder and adds to sound quality. I recently installed a pair of Soundstream SST6.9's. According to a few different...

New system setup. How did I do?

Thanks for the replies. Would I need an extra battery in the back to power two amps?

New system setup. How did I do?

Budget I would say I was looking at MTX Terminators on Amazon for $130 shipped. They're in the enclosure and are rated at 400 rms. I'm looking for the best sound I can get for under $450 total. I'm not too picky and just looking for decent sound. (for reference, I think my dad's Bose 8 speaker...

New system setup. How did I do?

First, I'm completely new to car audio. I'm 21, just got my first own car and before this never installed a single speaker. I did a little research before purchasing everything and think I did okay (for an okay budget system). I repeat budget system: $76 Back speakers, Soundstream SST6.9 $90...
