however, I must say, I do find it hard to believe that there are no 6x8" speakers at all that could be powered by 22w rms and also sound significantly better than the factory speakers in my Mazda. still open to suggestions in that area

well the concept 5.25's worked great with just my HU, but maybe 6x8's are a different story, or maybe they would have sounded even better with an amp, but I thought they sounded much better than the factory speakers that they replaced in my old car. I'll put those in the rear doors and see how...

the concept speakers are 100w peak power but I don't know what the rms power is. they ran fine with my old pioneer HU that was probably 22wx4 as well. so what would happen with the revs? they would just be really quiet? to avoid getting an amp, what are some more efficient 6x8's that are good...

I have two pretty decent aftermarket 5.25" speakers. I would love to replace the factory speakers in my 2002 mazda protege 5's rear doors. The stock speakers are 6", so is there a way to make my 5 1/4" speakers fit into the 6" opening? Also, the factory speakers have three screws (one every 120...

aha...you are right: 2002-2003 Protege5 Front 5x7" @ 2.75" * Can use 6x8"s, see note belov. NOTE! 5x7"s and 6x8"s speakers are totaly interchangable as far as aftermarket speakers are concerned. So if you have a car with 5x7" speakers you can replace them with 6x8" speakers. So I guess i'll...
