I said it would beat MOST systems, and most systems aren't built for spl. So I stick by my statement. And plus brandinooo, you got an 18 inch audioque, of coarse that'll beat out my one 15. And phoenix risen, that soundstream you got is a beast, and can handle way more power than mine can...

I would suggest Orion's HCCA 15. Ive got one in my explorer right now, and it blows most other systems out of the water!! But if you really want to do a good hair trick, you'll probably need at least 3 15's, plus a lot of electrical work.

Im powering it with a hifonics brz 2400 at 2ohms, so its getting 1700watts of power. Ive had it for about a year, but when I first got it I was WAY overpowering it. I had the bass boost up way to high and I think that did some damage to it. Also I havnt done anything as for as power supply...

So it looks like the voice coil in my hcca is about to burn out. How easy is it to install the recone kit. Is it as simple as dropping it in and screwing it in?

Im looking for a replacement cranking battery that will help with power to my amp (my lights are dimming). Optima doesn't have the best reviews online. Any suggestions? Also, I do plan on replacing my alternator and adding an extra power cell.

Thanks sobe3yourself, I thought that might be the problem. I was just worried because I just blew a voice coil in my w3 and it smelled similar. dragnix, I just found this website and decided to use it, I wasn't really paying attention to where I posted my question. Live and learn I guess.

I recently purchased a new JL Audio 12w6v2 and have it powered by an Alpine MRP-M1000. When I turn the volume up, I start smelling something coming from the woofer. It smells like a hot, electrical type smell, but there's no smoke. My question is, does anyone know where the smell is coming...
