While you are right, they are essentially the same head unit. The video has the Pioneer Premier DEX-P9R, which is the European version of the same head unit. I assumed the American model number would be most appropriate considering OP seems to be from California.

It has no on-board fusing, however you are still recommended to use an inline fuse on the main power wire going into the amp. The fuse rating for the AP should be 250-300 amps.

In that case I guess it would just depend where you need your power at 1Ω (Power Acoustik) or 2Ω (Audiopipe).. Could always sell them both and get a decent used 2-3k.
