audio input 2 HU help please!!

That's correct. The xa-107/300 hooks up to the CD changer connections on the head unit and the head unit recognizes it and allows control of it via the unilink cable. The units have the provisions for attaching a CD changer to them so that you'd still have the capability to run one, but you...

audio input 2 HU help please!!

Here ya' go: http://gnunilink.sourceforge.net/ Looks like you need to be able to do some programming as well. BTW: The single input Sony unit is an XA-107, not XA-15.

audio input 2 HU help please!!

Also, there's a site out there with DIY info for making your own aux-in adapter. If you can solder components to a circuit board or know someone who has the skills, you can go that route. I'll see if I can locate it if it's up your alley.

audio input 2 HU help please!!

You're not looking very hard...I found an XA-300 on Ebay right after I replied. Try searching on sony xa. You'll get a bunch of other stuff like disc changer cartridges, but you'll also find the aux-in boxes.

audio input 2 HU help please!!

Yup, you need an XA-series aux input box. Check Ebay. You can just get an older XA-30 which typically goes around $30-40. I use a newer XA-300 which is basically the same thing as the XA-30 but it also has a USB hook-up which allows you to connect it to a laptop/carputer to pipe the audio in...

Installed my system, it wont work

Why would you expect anything different? It's not going to 'pound' or sound good just sitting there with the back waves cancelling out the front output. Put it back in the box.

Installed my system, it wont work

Take the amp out and make some test cables for it so that you can set it on a fender or something convenient near the battery to test it. I went through some weirdness like this a few months ago and it turned out that the spot I chose for grounding was no good. I had alternator whine, amps would...

    Yes, Another REM Question

You can use a tap at the fuse block, just tap off of something that only has power when the ignition is on. There are a few companies that make a more robust version of a tap...extend a fuse or something like that...I used them for a couple of circuits in my Jeep. You plug the unit into the fuse...

    Weird wiring problem

Wow! I got everything buttoned up yesterday and ran the Jeep for a while with the system on whil I added & checked the ***** fluid...what a difference. Absolutely no noise, and thanks to the big 3 I'm getting a solid 13.5 volts instead of 12.8

    Weird wiring problem

Back in action...'old school' caught up with me. The last head unit I'd installed had a single wire for power antenna & amp turn on, this one has separate wires. I had used the turn-on for the signal processors and the antenna for the amps...you can probably guess what happened. Switch to...

    Weird wiring problem

Big 3 is done and I think all of my noise is gone now. Couldn't do a full check since I had a jackstand holding my drivetrain up while I replaced the ***** filter & gasket. Started the engine and the upper radiator hose was riding on the alternator (oops). Just got one head unit issue to...

    Weird wiring problem

Up & running again this weekend. I ran the 8 gauge grounds to a distro block and the remnant of one that I shortened was re-used from the block to one of the body mounting bolts (the chassis grounds to the frame through these bolts and there's a ground strap on the passenger side engine...

    i need serious help ASAP!

Not rocket science, you just gotta run the wires yourself like nosaj070 is tellin' ya'. All you need is battery power, igntion switched power, and a ground. For the power, you can just go to your fuse box and tap in. There are these things called 'add-a-fuse' or something like that which you can...

    Walmart Wiring Kits

Absolutely nothing wrong with the power cables, fuse holders, & distro blocks in those kits. As has already been said, it's Schoshe, same stuff as EFX. The RCA's aren't the greatest quality (shielding), but I've had no problem with them since my vehicle doesn't have a ton of...
