THis may be a dumb question for you genius car guys, but is there a difference or a better way than another for bass......Is it better to turn up gains a bit on amp and play lower level of bass at HU? or keep gains low on amp, and turn bass up on HU? Does it make any kind of difference, because...

I was just double checking. THey are just 10" db-500s so its not like they are some high end speaker. They sound quite pleasing to me ears though..

Right, well okay then, I wont worry to much about it. My amp Hifonics Brutus, doesnt get hot at all, maybe a slight bit warm, but thats it. And the speaker really isnt that hot either, just barely warm. Just curious. Makes sense though. Thanks for help fellas

Can you hear clipping to the ear? Cause my gains are only turned up a quarter of the way, and I have them set properly. It was playing for around 30 mins straight. I mean it wasnt hot really, just warm

Whats it a sign of when you feel your speaker, and the cone is warm..not hot, just warm to the touch? Bad, Good, or what

Is it not correct that with this cd player, it has a "sub bass" adjustment...-15 to +15...I have my sub hooked up and its not reconizing it..I think HU may have probem

Yeah, cause i would hit audio button on remote, and it would go to sub bass...negative 15 to positive 15...but now it it just goes to bass, which is all speaker levels. It was went to that since amp has been blown...weird kinda...i thin its hu something..its a pioneer 890

Here is somting interesting i just thought about..i think its rca's cuase my hu does not notice the sub..I cant adjust sub bass when hookep up like i used to..you think that could be it?
