Thanks for the replys! I know the R's are not the most SQ, however what tune should I try to achieve to have the most SPL with best SQ? 50 / 50 ish or so!!

DVC 4ohm. I was going to run them like the diagram I found at JBL's site for a 1ohm load? OK or no?

I have a Hifonics Brutus BXi1606D (1600 @ 1ohm) on its way!

I received today the first of my new items that I ordered... 2 10" Type R's (DVC 4) to replace my 1052 Infinitys. Cant wait to get em in!! Anywho...Any Type R fans have any pointers other then the obvious?? Thanks

Heres the store on ebay that carries them for cheap! TMS Wholesales I know they got some 30" & 36" left, Im not sure about the 24" ones. I ordered those last night. $23 w/ shipping. Great deal.

Thanks much man! So I got 2 10"type r's, and im thinking of getting a hifonics mono 1600. So will the type r's be ok with 800 watts per? Is it sufficient, or over kill? Thanks

Hey all!! Pretty much a newbie quest... With a mono amp rated at 1600 watts @ 1ohm, and connecting 2 subs 4 ohm DVC using the wiring guide from here, exactly how do the watts get dispursed? Are the subs getting the full 1600, or are they getting 800 /sub? Was never sure how the monos worked...

So let me get this straight... The following is a diagram I found at JL's site. If the 2 subs are connected in parallel and they are 4 DVC then that will create 1ohm? Dual-4 Ohm Subwoofers: 1 Ohm

Would I be allright running them with a Hifonics BXI 1606. It gives 1100 x1 2ohm, its 1600 x1 1ohm but the R's cant run 1 ohm right?

OK, what about a couple 10" type R's? Onlinecarstereo has them for 117 a pop, free shipping! Anyone got any other good, cheaper sites? Or better ideas for some subs?
