Please help me tune my sub amplifier

Yea so I was just moving the amp again to adjust the gain levels, and the power AND ground cables popped out of their U attachent things which were covered in tape....Im guessing one if not both of them were loose, thus explaining the low power levels to the amp:eek: Im gonna take everything...

also, does speaker wire limit power at all? I am using somewhat old speaker wire from my home theater system.

Please help me tune my sub amplifier

Lesson learned....I just adjusted the LPF to 80hz, killed the Bass Boost, put the xover to LPF....With the gain half way, at a loud volume I can feel only a slight vibration on the subs, they are getting something, but its nothing significant. Can you explain how I can check the phase? I was...

Please help me tune my sub amplifier

I dont' know what that means, but it sounds intriguing. I am still a noob at wiring....all I know was I was able to achieve some sweet power by bridging my amp and wiring series parellel to the 2 dvc type rs....this was with the xover set to "full", the level all the way up, the LPF all the way...

Please help me tune my sub amplifier

when I have the xover to lpf I find it very hard to get anything close to powerful bass....my 6x9's on a much smaller amp produce most of the bass!

here are the controls: http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/products/2005/026/x026TS19202-L.jpeg I have it hooked up series parellel to two alpine r's like so: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/graphics/Support/Tutorials/wiring_images/DVC_Series_2.gif and am having a hard time figuring out how high to...

Please help a noob wire his subs properly!!

I hooked it up this way and it sounds very weak, you cant even feel the bass without bassboost cranked all the way up....can this be?

also, by bridge you mean I will just be using the + of the right channel and the - of the left channel.....sound good?

Ok, that is the setup I had before....is that optimal for me? I should have the xover set to LPF correct? I have heard recomendations to keep the lpf dial at around 100, and the bassboost close to off....sound good?

Please help a noob wire his subs properly!!

That confuses me even more...shouldn't I select the 4+4 ohm dvc subs so this would be my wiring setup for each channel: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiringwizard/1_4ohmDVC_2ohm.gif and I wouldnt connect the two subs in anyway? I tried what I thought to be that setup and it sounded...

so should I wire the VC in parellel, then run a wire from the + on one VC to the + on the other VC and the - on the left VC to the - on the right VC? Then wire the remaining + and - on each woofer to the corresponding + and - terminal on each channel? I am new to these whole wireing schemes.

Please help a noob wire his subs properly!!

So...I cracked open the box... the voice coils were wired in a series with a very short wire from each individual + and -.....you say to wire the VC in parellel, so I should run a wire from the + on one VC to the + on the other VC and the - on the left VC to the - on the right VC? Then wire...

I am trying to hook up my new pair of subs, this is the first time ive really done this. -I already wired my amp with 4g power wire -I am using a standard fuse, crutchfield claims I need a new one (For 105-amp fuse protection, an ANL wafer style fuse is required, but none of the 4-gauge wiring...
