I have a spare amp in the garage. I think it still works. Kenwood KAC-7202 2-channel car amplifier 150 watts RMS x 2 at Crutchfield.com Do you think this will work with the subwoofer? Also is running 2 amps in a car going to harm the battery or altenator in anyway?

Yeah, it gets pretty loud. I still can't figure it out. Any alternatives to LOC besides getting a new HU with rca output?

The speaker I tapped into still works, I simply soldered the LOC to the speaker wires, not cut it off completely.

Ungrounding the loc did not help.

I have the evo with no amp. The original owner just threw the Rockford fosgate navi head unit on.

I will try removing the ground when I get home. I was told that single subwoofers run mono, there for I only need to tap one side. If that's not true then I will tape both sides.

The HU comes on everytime, whether it is connected to the amp or disconnected. The only connection between the amp and loc is the RCA cable. I was also thinking that the HU was going into some safety mode thinking the speaker was being shorted out. I was reading on the active and passive LOCs...
