I've been out of car audio for about 3-4 years now and finally have a vehicle I can put a sub in. I'm looking for something I've never owned before, and my budget is right around $150 for a single sub.

basically a car battery is 12 volts, but the battery is mainly for starting the car and after the car is started the alternator takes over the job of providing power. The alternator is usually around 14 volts because in order to properly charge the battery at 12 volts you need a higher voltage...
bout a gallon and a half in the entire trunk, not quite sure exactly how much on the lid but there's quite a bit. As long as you get a good seal and tight close on the trunk lid, it doesn't rattle much. The little "spoiler" on the back can rattle sometimes though.
I have bookshelves using those tweets and mids, i like them quite a bit. Have you looked at parts express' project gallery? tons of projects, and you can buy your subs from them as well.
If you are looking into getting a receiver, you might not need a seperate mid/high amp. Maybe hook up mp3...
