How to keep copper wire ends from fraying?

A 2nd for ferrules. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JHTG97G/?tag=caraudiocom-20 You can use insulated or uninsulated with heat shrink. There’s a tool for crimping the smaller ones but you won’t need that for connecting to the amp, the set screws will deform them nicely to the shape of the terminal.

I have an amp that is 50wx2 for the left and right but my speaker is 230w max

As long as you can use anything other than Bluetooth as a source it will have gains (I.e. if it has speaker level or RCA inputs).

I have an amp that is 50wx2 for the left and right but my speaker is 230w max

Just to reinforce this: peak power ratings are meaningless. That’s the absolute most they can handle for millionths of a second without blowing. So, you’ve got a 50wRMS amp for 40w RMS speakers which is fine, just make sure you set the gains to match the speakers. Just as an FYI incase it...

Help me build a nice system from the ground up

You’ve got some issue that isn’t related to your audio system unless it wasn’t set up properly. Take it to a shop that has all the fancy computers and have them check everything and see if they can find what’s going on. Maybe the HU might be staying on after the car shuts off? So when you take...

    Crossover setting problem

1khz would be ideal for the first graph and the 2nd graph doesn’t break up too badly below 1khz. 2khz could also work but the first graph breaks up pretty badly after that frequency where as the 2nd graph isn’t too bad below 1khz. So somewhere between those two, depending on what sounds best to...

    Help testing speaker wire

How did you do the battery test? If you disconnect the wires from the amp/source unit and use those ends for this test that should tell you. You’ll probably have to check all connections anyway. Chances of the wire itself being an issue are slim unless it’s old copper coated aluminum. I’m...

Best 6.5" speakers with no amp, but some bass. (need recommendations)

Do you know what the amps output is going to be? JLs C1s, on paper, look like they’d be pretty good. They’re not 75w but even if you use 40w speakers with a 100w amp you’ll be fine as long as you’ve got the gains set properly and having quieter speaker in the back isn’t a big deal. The best...

"Expert" friend suggests mono amp for system volume increase

If you’ve got a decent shop near by best thing to do would be talk with them and see what they can do. Failing that, or even if you do do that, crutchfield.com is a great place to start. they’ll filter everything by what works with your car (“find what fits my car” or something), I don’t think...

    Wiring Diagram

Crutchfield.com might have what they call a “master sheet” for your car. Will tell you what color wires each speaker has, how to remove door panels etc. I don’t know if that’s what you’re after but they sell them for about $9 or include them free with all orders (if you have your vehicle...

    Crossover Frequency Setting Range?

Personally I’d cross the sub over with the 6x8s at 80-100hz, 6x8s with 3.5” and 200-400hz and cross the 3.5” and tweeters crossed over at 4,500hz. That’s based upon the size of the woofers disregarding the fact that they have tweeters, since you’ve got separate tweeters you’ll want to use the...

New install - low input, very weak bass

As the previous replier stated your LOC will make up for you HU cutting the level of lower frequencies, if it does. If you haven’t then mess around with the AcuBass knob (whatever it’s called). If the sub isn’t distorting with a 12dB increase then you’d probably be safe to raise the gains on...

    LOC, and Misc questions

I should have said that I have no experience with the 2019 Imprezas but I’d highly doubt they got rid of that option though for all I know they might have changed it.

    LOC, and Misc questions

Your head unit has the basic left/right front/rear balance/fader but it also has what it calls “vocal imaging” which is time delay. The way they do it isn’t great but it’s better than nothing. The basic principle of time delay is delaying the speakers closest to the listening position to match...

Need help ASAP! Please - Static Audio

Almost sounds like a ground loop? But why that’d happen with USB I don’t know. Have you tried moving the phone around/unplugging it and does it happen listening to the radio/CDs? Checking the ground would be a good first step. Could be lose or just not a good ground. But that wouldn’t depend on...

    LOC, and Misc questions

No you didn’t, you made it clear you were talking about the turn on. I had a sub installed in my Impreza a couple years ago and they put the wired remote (volume) in a location that blinded you when driving at night (they also used front left door speaker for the input,... the one speaker...
