Ended up getting a used W3v3 and I'm REALLY satisfied with the sound. In the same 1.0 cu. box the Alpine was in. This is pretty much the bass I was looking for. I wish it was a slight bit louder but an upgrade to my HU should fix that or perhaps a second w3, but I'm hesitant on giving up trunk...

Found a deal locally... Tempted to get these and build a box, and sell the Alpine/ or give to a family member.

Sad thing is I'm still with my stock headunit and fronts. So no eq and proper crossover. I'm just more curious on how it would look on a graph.

Now that I've had this sub for a while now, and ran some low frequency response tests, I noticed the sub has a HUGE peak at 40hz and drops off heavily then. With bass guitar songs and songs with fast bass the sub has a hard time keeping up with the changing notes. I've started looking at...

Thanks for that, it's definitely what I hear. Upper bass has a lot of slam but then quickly rolls off, while having a hard time differentiating bass guitar. EDM, not really a problem as it doesn't matter as much (imo). I listen to mainly metal, rock, EDM, with some indie pop thrown around in...

I know all that, but from what some people on this thread are saying, doesn't seem like that.

What is sound quality to you guys? For me I would like a sub that can actually differentiate bass notes. With the Alpine it sounds like it's all mushed together. I've heard it in HT systems, and my friend's kicker does it too. As far as going lower, that's nice, but I'd rather have clearer bass...

I might be able to get a video comparison w/ my buddies cars since I have a pretty decent mic to use. We'll see.

Yes, I went with a prefab sealed, and my plan now is to build one myself (using your box) over time. I just didn't want to wait forever to get my sub installed and would like to use this as a learning experience as well. Also now hearing three cars with prefabs, I thought I would be able to get...
