In those price ranges it would be best to save a little bit more money and buy something a little nicer. I would say $150 for a sub woofer and $200 for an amp is a good budget.

I would have gone with the Morels. I have the 6x9's and they are extremely impressive. I don't have them amp'd either.

Ok I just talked to him. He's also got the remote and microphone that came with the head unit. He still has to test the cd player to make sure it's in working condition but it looks promising. This head unit will be a nice old school addition and it has a 3 way crossover for those wanting to go...

The low compression or high compression setting are probably for the source. If you are listening to low compression FLAC files or a CD then you should probably use that setting. If you are using high compression files like mp3's, etc then you should probably use the high compression setting...
