    Eclipse I-Pod Controls

Any luck with this? I'm trying to get my iPod to work with my old Eclipse 5341R. I bought a cable that connects an iPod to the CD Changer port, but the radio still doesn't recognize anything being connected as a changer.

    Eclipse Cd5423 and Ipod volume

How old is this Eclipse unit? And how did you hook up the iPod to it? I have an older Eclipse HU, a 5341R and I'm trying to figure out how to hook up my iPod through the CD Changer port. Sorry to hijack your thread.

It needs some adjusting. There's actually more sub bass than I want. It's very overpowering in such a small car. Of course, I have stock speakers, which leave something to be desired. But all the issues can definitely be resolved.

Had to change out the fuse holder, so here is a shot of the bracket I made up. Another shot. It mounts out of the way and uses the same bolts as the cruise control module. These last few shots are of what you'll actually see of this install. It's pretty much all hidden except for the radio...

Here are the final pics of the install. Finished it last week. I have a little more sound deadening mat left, but I will install that whenever I have time. Bare interior Had to modify some bracketry for the passenger's seat weight sensors for the airbag system. None of the sensor brackets...

That's all for now. It's a work in progress. Andar, I might change it up later and add a pocket. I don't want to use a plastic kit, but I might fabricate another trim piece with a pocket option. I don't really need any more storage cubbies, because, as you know, there are plenty of those...

Got the Eclipse installed in the dash, for now anyways. I need to try some different paint options to get closer to the factory dash color, but it's pretty much how I pictured it would sit. The trim ring for the radio. I don't have the right router set up to make this easily, so I had to use...

Did some more sound deadening. Passenger door. Stripped all wiring and bracketry. One layer of eDead on inner and outer skin. A couple bonus pieces behind the speaker opening. Rear door. Other rear door. Also put a few pieces in the hatch area under the spare tire. The doors sound a...

Ya, only 8 posts. I forgot I was even signed up here. Didn't have time or $$$ for car audio, so why tease myself? Then again, I still don't have the $$$ for it. The sub is actually a 10", but I usually use 3/4" MDF no matter. Overkill, isn't that what car audio is all about. Anyway, I had a...

It fits pretty close. I think I could probably get up to 3/4 cube if I made another one and took up all the space. This box fits in front of the rear floor mat, so there is still plenty of foot room, and I have about 7" of depth. Nice Cobra pic.

Patience. I have to work. It's going to be an on going project. I haven't even gotten the sub yet, or the cable to hook up the iPod. Plus, if everything works out right, there won't be much to see. STEALTH.

I haven't done much with stereo installs for a few years now. But since I spend quite a bit of time in this car I figured I'd have to do something with it. It's going to be basic, and reasonably stealth so that I don't lose much of the space I have. I have an older Eclipse HU that I'm going to...

    Lights Inside Wiring Question....

No you can't cut the lighter plug off and hook the wires to your subs. The lighter plug is giving the neon 12 volts DC, while speakers work on AC current. Two different animals.

Help: How do I tap oem wiring to get a RCA connector?

SCoupe, just look at the wiring picture you attached. You'll see 2 ground connections in the plug. (P) Ground is your (P)ower ground. (S) ground is your (S)ignal ground. It is not uncommon for a factory amplified system to have a common signal ground to the amplifier. If you chose to use the...

    Box Sealing?????

Overkill is usually the best with audio. If you don't want to bother with glueing up all the double panels, you could probably get away with just making some cross braces for inside the box. That should keep the box from flexing.
