Thinking about trying a home sub in the trunk

Thanks but I pulled the driver and it was very low quality so it took a dive in the dumpster too. Boston is not what they used to be in the late 80's early 90's. I used to run their separates back in the day.

Thinking about trying a home sub in the trunk

Finally got around to trying it. The ported Boston sub is a piece of junk. Sounded horrible with all kinds of port noise. My sealed single 10 sounds a gazillion times better. I'm sure my results may have been different with a nice SVS:) Was an interesting experiment and reminded me why I've...

    Alpine 9813 repair help

I've had an Alpine 9813 since new that's been in a couple vehicles and is still in beautiful shape. I recently replaced it with a new Alpine because it was miss behaving. The lights would go out once in a while and I had to give it a good nudge to get them back on. Checked all connections a...

Thinking about trying a home sub in the trunk

Something tells me I wouldn't be the first to use a home sub in the trunk of a vehicle.:) It's actually a better looking enclosure then my single 10. I'm sure durability will eventually be a problem but I was gonna just throw it in the dumpster anyway. Maybe my new SVS will get a shot at car...

Thinking about trying a home sub in the trunk

I've got a 12" 4ohm Boston XB6 home sub that has a blown amp. Thinking about pulling the amp, sealing it up with a hunk of MDF and using it in place of my sealed 10 incher. The XB6 is a bass reflex enclosure with a front facing port so I'm thinking it might do a pretty good job in a trunk...

Do You Guys Upgrade Rear Speakers?

Good rear speakers might come in handy if you have a 32" TV installed in your dash and you need them for surround effects:)

Who here prefers single sub setups, does power compression really affect them that badly?

I run a single 10 these days cuz I got old.:)

Aux in control on old h/u

Now a days decent head units are so cheap ya might as well replace it for one that has Bluetooth and an auxiliary input. If I was aware of what $100.00 could get ya these days I would have replaced my old Alpine 9813 a long time ago.

    Cheap Sony head units

Just snagged a Sony MEX-N4300BT on clearance for a ridiculous price. Anyone running one of these and are they any good? Might throw it in the old hunting Jeep next weekend.

My old Alpine 9813 is finally dead (Time for a new one)

Just some quick observations for anyone thinking about the Alpine 73BT or similar Alpine head unit: 1. Sound is really solid and maybe even better then my CDA-9813. 2. Blue Tooth Voice calls are fantastic on both ends!!!!! 3. After adjusting my amps I really don't notice a difference between 2V...

My old Alpine 9813 is finally dead (Time for a new one)

To late, I went ahead and grabbed the 73.:) What amazes me is that it takes the exact same harness as my 2003 CDA-9813 and the remote control even works. The install was plug and play since I didn't have to rewire anything. Been a really long time since I purchased a head unit and I'm blown...

My old Alpine 9813 is finally dead (Time for a new one)

Thanks. Spent some time lookin for a 62bt last night and didn't find anything. Like you said, it's definitely a better unit then the 73bt.

My old Alpine 9813 is finally dead (Time for a new one)

Thanks H. Gonna run by BB tomorrow and grab one. Hoping Alpine's quality is still as good as it was many moons ago. I think I purchased my first Alpine in 1982. I'm kinda surprised how inexpensive decent head units are these days. It looks like the only downgrade will be going from 4V to 2V...

My old Alpine 9813 is finally dead (Time for a new one)

I think my good ole Alpine 9813 finally bit the dust. On board amp seems to have died and it's no longer sending power to my amp"s remote turn-on lead. It also needs a good smack once in a while to see the display and the face gets stuck open sometimes when ejecting a CD. Thinking about...
