    I just bought a new precision power ba2600.1d amp which says it requires 8 gauge wiring. My old rockford p1000-1bd had been wired with 4 gauge wires which are still currently in my car.     The amp would be very hot, the power lights werent lighting up, there was a burnt smell, and it was not powering the sub. There are no onboard fuses and the fuse under the hood seems like its intact.
