I'm thinking of making my own box, what is the best dimensions for a single 15" subwoofer box?

Should I put polyfill in my box?

Um... well, the polyfill also keeps the sub from bottoming out because it adds extra resistance. I'm not sure if it will make a difference or not at 30 Hz. It could sound bad for a couple of reasons, 1. being that the sub just doesn't work well at that low of frequencies or 2. If the enclosure...

    Subwoofer Problem

ok, well, i did have a box for it, but the box was crap and it rattled. Therefore, I took the sub out of that box and tested it without one. That is when i noticed the cracking and popping noises from it. The sub shouldn't be blown, and im about 99.9% sure that it isn't. I was only putting about...

Should I put polyfill in my box?

Yeah, every book i've ever read has said to use polyfill. It actually makes it seem like the subwoofer is in a bigger enclosure than what it is actually in. Also, Infinity, I'm pretty sure that you are right, 1 lb per cubic foot, should do fine.

    15" MTX Thunder6000 8 Ohm Problems

I'll try to connect it better, and I'm pretty sure it's not bottoming out, cause it isn't moving all that much. I think that in a box it would be better though. Well anyway, it seems that I have a few things i can try out. Thanks

    Subwoofer Problem

Currently, I actually don't have it in an enclosure at all. Is it still the former hitting the backplate?

    15" MTX Thunder6000 8 Ohm Problems

I tried the equalizer, and it did help somewhat. Though, the subwoofer did pop still at high volumes.

    15" MTX Thunder6000 8 Ohm Problems

I don't currently have it in an enclosure because i wanted to make sure the enclosure wasn't the problem. Also, I have tried to just send it low frequencies but some high frequencies are getting through. If you really believe that is the problem, how can I just give it low frequencies? Also, I...

    Subwoofer Problem

I only have one MTX Thunder6000 15" 8 Ohm subwoofer and I tried hooking it up to my home stereo but when i give the subwoofer more power it tends to make a cracking, popping noise. One person told me that it was that the subwoofer was getting too much raw current, is there any way to remedy...

    15" MTX Thunder6000 8 Ohm Problems

Oh, also, keep in mind that the sub is completely new, it hasn't been used very much at all and the sub is supposed to be for a car applications, but i figured since the sub was 8 ohms it would be fine on my home system, then again, it has been popping so I dont know.

    Ohms

If you have 2, 4 Ohms speakers and you wire them parallel, then you wire that parallel with an 8 Ohms speaker, how many Ohms would the speakers require? If this is possible at all.

    2 amps and Subwoofer?

So how do you know if they are bridgeable or not? Would the amp specs tell you?

    2 amps and Subwoofer?

What do you mean by strappable? I never heard that term used in electronics.

    2 amps and Subwoofer?

Is there anyway to hook up an 8 Ohm sub to two different amps at one time?
