I installed a JL 10w6v3 with a JL J2500/1 amp! Sounds amazing, but at high volumes my mids and hi's distort! They are only powered by the Alpine head unit. Also have 2 farad cap to amp! What am i doing wrong?

Yay or nay!! Why do amplifiers have a bass boost if it's recommended to put it on zero???

I have one JL Audio 10w3v3-2 in a sealed box at 1.12cu ft. 500/1 JL Audio amp. In a montero. Gains all set at half. Seems like speaker is bottoming out!! Still sounds good,but I feel I can get more out of what Im working with!! Should I go ported!!!!?????????
