    Another Reason For Rear Fill...

BINGO!!! We have a winner. I had to laugh at the poster who claims that autos have more reflections than a home listening room. I'd give anything for non parallel walls such as a car has. We won't even get into standing waves, wavelengths and corner loading. We talk about accurately reproducing...

    Pioneer or Alpine?

I too have Comp/BMX but never believed it to have anything to do with the BBE function. BBE is described as a totally different function. ???

    Another Reason For Rear Fill...

Agreed and why I'm a 2 channel listener. Now if I could get my car audio to sound as nice as my home audio....Gotta love vacuum tubes and Canadian speakers.

    Another Reason For Rear Fill...

I never said there is rear fill in a live performance. I elluded to the spacial cues of a live performance that can't often be correctly duplicated by a automobile's two channel setup. Limitations exist in the small interiors. You mention that the band is infront of the listener at a concert...

    Another Reason For Rear Fill...

You are comparing two different things here. Live music and recorded music. Live music gives off many more cues do to speaker placement, reverb, echo and early reflections. This often gives off a fuller sound that many attribute to the real thing. Ever notice how a recording ***** compared to...

    Pioneer or Alpine?

I really don't get the BBE feature on my 780 HU. It seems to be another version of the loudness feature. Bass does seem to get tighter and the music just gets louder. Using BBE can introduce distortion pretty quickly to my 5-1/4" comps.

    Another Reason For Rear Fill...

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Roger Waters record many of his songs in "Q" sound? The B-52's used the same recording technique. If you listen to Roger Water's "Amused To Death" album; you can clearly hear the effects on a 2 channel home system with proper setup...

    Opinion on Wrangler enclosures...

I have the adapter plates in the dash now with Diamond D6 5-1/4" comps. The sound is very thin and the Diamonds can't take much bass. They are powered with a PDX 4.150. I have a single 12 in a sealed box for more accurate bass. I'm not into the boom that ported boxes offer. I listen to jazz and...

    Opinion on Wrangler enclosures...

How do you pros think these will work for front staging in my Jeep Wrangler? Click on the pics for larger version. I'm concerned about internal air volume for decent midbass from a 5-1/4" driver and that they don't sit as far forward as custom kick panels. Thanks...

    Blown Diamond Comps, Advice???

This is what I'm thinking. I can't believe these can't handle 100 hz! They are rated to go much lower.

    Blown Diamond Comps, Advice???

Mine cannot take full power on most rock cd's. They audibly distort. I may have damaged the one due to playing the sub so loud that I couldn't hear the comps distort. Keep in mind that I utilize the x-over in my Pioneer 780 HU set at 100HZ HP. I'm wondering if the x-over on the amp is more accurate?

    Blown Diamond Comps, Advice???

Is this just opinion or your personal experience? Thanks.

    Blown Diamond Comps, Advice???

I properly set the gain on amp and have battled with these since day 1. These are the D6 5.25" comps. I'm powering them with two channels of my Alpine PDX 4.150. They should see a good 150 watts/channel when played hard. These speakers seem happiest when crossed over at 100hz. They don't have...

    Alpine PDX amp wiring

Has anyone seen the quick disconnect plugs for speaker wires on the PDX 4.150? The plugs can be turned around so the (+) is facing outward and the (-) inwards or you can reverse the plug. It seems that doing so would reverse polarity. The Alpine manual says it does not matter what direction that...

    '06 Jeep Wrangler install challenges

No kidding? I'll have to check that out. This will negate the front to rear fade feature though. Thanks!
