turns out it was the rca's all along 😬.. the pair i swapped in was apparently not as shielded as i thought despite thier thickness. thank you all for suggestions tho!

Yeah, i only had the front hooked in, i can unplug the front and drive with the rear speakers without any issue. I feared it was an amp issue myself, but wouldnt the amp send the signals to the speakers regardless of the rca’s if it was struggling?

forgot to update, turned out the amp drew ground from the headunit thru the rca cables and burned the headunit internally, cleaned the amp ground and installed a new headunit and sound is clean now

This usually means that the amp is not getting enough power to play at high volume. Are you sure the cables are the correct size? You should also see if all the connections are solid in the ground and power.

Hve you meassured the power to it? The rca Cables are just signals from the radio to the amp and wont turn amps on or off, check if the ground is solid and that its grounded to bare metal
