Looking at the specs, the JL 500/1 puts out the same power for 1.5 - 4 ohms. The only difference is the damping factor is twice as good at 4 ohms compared to 2 ohms (>500@4ohms vs. >250@2ohms). With that said, would it be better to use a dual 2ohm voicecoil in series (4ohms total)...

How about for SQ driving a sub, any prefrence between RF, JL, or Memphis amps? Looking to drive a single IDMAX 12D4v.3 Thanks again.

Which style/class of amp gives better Sound Quality (SQ) for a sub, Class ab, d, or bd? Looking in the 500W range. Thks.
