Which is why people love the Yellowtop, because of a large reserve? It keeps steadier voltage under a higher load and the HO alt can keep a deep cell battery like that charged constantly?
Newer Vehicles are usually PCM controlled, meaning that the Computer tells the alt to send however many amps your needing at the time. The more the load, the more the amps. As far as too many amps, I'll let someone else chime in on that.
