If the factory stereo has a USB input I would just put MP3s on a flash drive and plug that in. Or if it has Bluetooth streaming you could connect your phone that way.

How did that alternator swap go?

This really isn't a good idea. You will need to tap into the factory head unit for the source anyway. The only part you would avoid by doing it that way is running a power cable from the battery in the engine bay to the amp. So for the hour or 2 to do that, you would rather charge a battery...

Jesus, are you going to try to fit that in the Focus?

I have to turn the contrast all the way up to get a good picture from the driver seat, but in doing so it looks fine. Way better than the old Kenwood I had, that thing had so much glare I couldn't see anything during the day.

Finished up the head unit, dash kit and clipping LED light last night. Now I have to find time to tune it up. It is a mess right now.

Oh I just saw that! I posted a couple things over there too, they really haven't been helpful. It seems like all they care about are bolt-ons and blow off valves. 8 hours and unbolting the motor...no thank you! Anyway, good luck and let me know how it goes!
