How does the Tempest sub compare to the 15" Fosgate HX2. I am trying to save trunk space that is why I do not want 2 15s.

I am looking for a good sub and amp combination. I like quality nowadays, not just ridiculous boom. I want a 15" since it offers a lower frequency than 12". Amp can be mono or 2 channel, but I know prefer mono. I prefer the 15" Fosgate HX2 for the sub(found very cheap online), but I was unsure...

Why is that ?? should I always go with sealed and ported even in a living room...

So I guess putting a car amp in my house is not worth all the expenses... but would it be louder if I got a good pair of 12s or 15s in a bandpass box ??? Anyone got a price on something good yet cheap that I could get a power supply and subs in a box... hehe I doubt it...

Well, the amp is about 7 - 8 years old now. It has been pumping hard power for a while. I have a Punch 800a4 on 2 Punch HX2 15s right now.. before I bought the amp, they were put on 2 12" HX2s for a while.... I really do not want to stop using the amp though ... good amps at low prices like...

I do not know why but the system seems to be having some sort of powering problem

I keep having this problem with my subs, they keep cutting off. Not so much when the bass hits but after like 5 minutes of the music being on and and keeps getting worse as the music plays on. The lower I cut the music, it eventually cuts off. The amp does not feel hot when I touch it though...

Yeah, man you have to watchout for those shops, they may be good in one thing but not everything... and wiring is probably the most crucial part of your setup -Mike

3 12s are pushing it but you have to think before you put soemthing in because you do not want to spend more fixing your car than you do on your system.... especially because of repairs needed to your car from your system...

Well, I have my 2 15s in my 88 Civic Hatchback facing the window and it is fine. I had them running hard for a year now, I never had a problem. And trust me they do hit, but then again I do have my amp turned down and my crossover I think you should be ok, as long as you play them moderately...
