I've been searching for this and can't find it anywhere. If there's no straightforward answer then just give some examples. How much does it cost? Is it worth it, or can it be? Basically, if I need only 20amps or so extra, would this be a smart way to get them?

My RE XXX 6.5 mids have an actual dc resistance of 1.75 ohm, whereas the id8's that I would like to run on the same amp (cheaper) have an actual resistance of 1.95 ohm; is that ok? If not, how close do the resistances need to be? For ex. would it be ok to run 1.75 ohm on 1/2 and 1.85 ohm on...

Well, I don't see myself attempting it, but nonetheless, if I wanted to, I don't see how I could go wrong if I directly followed the manufacturer's exact box diagram; I mean really if a manufacturer says, you'll need 2 23"x12" and 2 13" x 15" and 2 12" x 9" etc. 3/4 in mdf and put 'em together...

So, I'm still missing where this turns sour... You say you can set up a bandpass box to respond to a specific frequency range of interest, and make it flat, and have pretty good (though decreased if the range is wide) efficiency... I realize that all of that requires the building of a good box...

so, if I am NEVER going to listen to/buy/give a dam about a bass mechanik/whatever... If I really am going to listen to rock/metal MUSIC for pure enjoyment, what kind of frequency do you think that i should tune to, and somebody tell me what sub would fit best... I thought I knew what I wanted...
