I've narrowed it down to four different 6x9"s : the Kicker K69, Infinity KAPPA 692.5I, the Alpine SPR-694A, or the JL Audio TR690-TXi 3-Way. I currently have no subs, a Pioneer 40 watt RMS x 2 amp, and an Alpine CD player. All are two ways except the JL and they're all about the same price...

I got a set of brand new Infinity Kappa 692.5i's off ebay for around $110 dollars and they're the best 6x9"s I've ever heard. Even running them just off my Alpine deck, I've had people thinking I had an 10" sub.

Sealed or ported for tight bass? 8",10",12", or 15"? Thanks for the help.

I need a sub with tight bass rather than "booming" bass. I want it to hit hard. I need an amp, too. My price range is under $200 for two subs and under $100 for an amp.

My Infinity Kappa 692.5i 6x9" sound put out quite a bit of bass for 6x9"s. I only have 27 watts RMS going to each with my Alpine deck, but they still can pound fairly decent. Nice mids and highs, too.

Is there any where you can buy these online? I never see them in stores.

I have the choice of a brand new Clarion for around $180 or a one year old Alpine deck from a friend for $225. I'm looking for a deck that will work good with my 692.5i Infinity Kappa 6x9's for now. I will be using them for bass until I get subs. Suggestions?

Yes, the power light does come on. So the deck should be sending a signal through the RCA cables at all times when it's on?

Yes, what I meant was "SUB:W" was not in the audio menu. There are two sets of preamps on my deck. One is right in the deck and the other is on a wire which is a front output, I think. I have my RCA cables connected to the preamps in the deck.
