    Bryan's build

I got started with my car audio upgrade this week by building this sealed enclosure JL 8W3v2. Today I ordered an Alpine CDA-117 from Crutchfield. Since I haven't attached pictures to a post before I thought I would give it a try. I hope it works. Bryan

If I wanted to go active

I am in the planning phase of an upgrade to my 2008 Chevrolet Colorado stereo and would like some input. In reading about active verses passive I am a bit confused and wondering that if I bought a new HU with 6 channels preamp out aren't you getting active crossovers coming right out of the HU...

Help me finish this build .. I'm lost

I don't really know where you are going with this but I will say if you wire the 2Ω coils in series you get 4 Ω's. With resistance in series the resistance values adds up where in parallel the equation is product over sum (2 x 2 divided by 2 + 2 = 1). Basically, if you have two like value...

Any tips on foaming my rear hatch?

I think his system is a good one but like I said, I can't use that foam. I am going to go with the tiles, the MLV & still to be figured out material to replace the CCF. I forgot to mention earlier that he will send you a sample pack that has samples of each material. Good luck!

Any tips on foaming my rear hatch?

I had a sample sent to me so I could see if the odor messed me up, it did! I am have a chemical sensitivity so I can't use it but it might not bother you. I am going to sound proof also but I need to be careful what I use. Here is a link to the guy I am working with, read all about it and his...

Maybe one of your daisy chain jumper coil to coil is open (bad connection) and you are just reading one coil. Can you pull the sub and measure at the terminals?

" I am pretty new here and admit to being a little green and have only replied a couple of times to someone's post. I have received this message twice. Does the moderator check all post? Perhaps...

I'm searching for a "What do you call it?"

Klash, I did just try to quote you but the board said it would be posted after the moderator approved it (paraphrased) Anyway, your link put me in the right direction. My amp is a JL Audio e1200 and I know that it does have a receptacle for a bass knob. Now I just need to track one down...

I'm searching for a "What do you call it?"

I'm not playing a trivia game here, I am just trying to find what you call an item so I can search for it, read about it and then maybe eventually purchase it for my system. It is an in-line volume control that you can put in between your head unit and amp. I want something I can mount up front...

Hello to you all. I found this site while searching for audio products for my 2008 Chevrolet Colorado. In my spare time this Summer I would like to select and install a sound deadening system then hopefully upgrade my factory radio with a new Head unit to go along with my amps and sub which I...
