yeah that's the amp. It's a 1996 model, made in USA, was always putting out much better SQ than the foreign made crap today. but good luck finding manual or anything, I never have.

K thanks, now were getting somewhere. How does Bose cheat? And for the speakers and clipping...so the speakers are asking too much from the amp? Overdriving it and mucking up the signal? K makes sense if that's true. I listened to each speaker closely at low level, they dont sound damaged...

So...the amp is underpowered. Meaning that Im not even beginning to efficiently drive the speakers, making them sound poor?

I guess I assumed everyone would know the Audio Art amp is under-rated in power. It's been benched at over 600 watts so there's plenty of power to push the speakers. let me check my gain and x-over freq. settings. Can someone give me a baseline on what freq. the amp should be set at?
