after reading 50+ threads about the jvc, I found out that it only has a hf filter for the mids and tweets. Since I need a bandpass filter on the mids to run my active setup I ordered a clarion cz702. I had this headunit in my previous car and really liked it. For the price I figured, why not

thanks for all the helpful info guys! I ended up ordering a clarion cz702, ppi p900.4, silver flute 6.5" mids, and vifa ne25vta tweeters. I like the fact that with the headunit I can set the crossover points more precisely. It's a little more reassuring

anyone ever use a jvc kw-r900bt before? Does it have the necessary crossovers to high/low pass my mids, tweets, and sub?

I did a search but can't find that unit anywhere for sale either. i'm not a fan of motorized/flip out screens anyways tbh

I've heard it's a pretty solid amp for the price. I'm just wondering when I set the crossover, do you just have to guess approximately where it should be on the dial, or do you play test tones or something? I've never actively crossed from the amp crossover before, only from a headunit

if you tune lower and kill the low notes I think they have a tendency to travel farther and/or penetrate through barriers. (If you're trying to shake houses) at least that's what I have noticed with my systems. maybe I'm just imagining it.

not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but along with running 1/0 wire to the amp, you should run 0/1 from your batt to your fuse box and alternator
