    Amplifier Cuts Out

What kind of amp is it? How do you have it wired, and are there any indicator lights on the amp that come on?

    Amp enclosure.....please help

http://www.eatel.net/~amptech/elecdisc/caraudio.htm Scroll down to the "Amp Rack" page for information on the fan placement and such, then scroll further down to the relay page, he goes pretty in-depth into using the remote turn-on lead to switch on various items.

    Test CD

Yeah, some of those bass tests are kinda fun, but I am more intrested in sound quality, which is why I use a CD that I have heard a thousand times on hundreds of systems.

    Test CD

Just wondering what music some of you other "audio guys" use to test your systems with. I am currently using the Linkin Park "Hybrid Theory" album, mostly because I have heard it in such a variety of enviroments I feel that I know how it should sound.

    would this work?

It would work as a temporary solution, make sure you have a fuse between the amps and the caps.

    Anyone seen...

That is what is so annoying about this, he is generally pretty level headed, he just refuses to consider that he is wrong this time. He even asked "friends" if you could "set a car on fire" by grounding out a "12 volt" battery, and he says they all laughed and thought that was stupid. How many...

    Anyone seen...

I was actually using that site to prove it, but he fails to see it because he once shorted out a battery with a screwdriver. He also doesn't see how the fact that the screwdriver was six inches long and probably had a huge ohm rating would make any difference. It is exasperating trying to prove...

    Anyone seen...

Has anyone seen/heard of/created a car fire due to shorting out an amp wire (8-4 guage) without a fuse. I know it is a stupid thing to do, but a friend disagrees and does not think it is possible. I'm debating getting him to buy me a new car if I prove it...

Do I Have To Take My Stock Face Out Of My Vw

I agree completely, however I assumed that because he is not upgrading his head unit he probably is looking to save as much money as possible, therefore the 'fiddling' and 'mess with' comments.

    Open Air Sub

Any suggestions on a good high quality 15" sub for open air use? I am assuming that I ought to calculate the volume of the trunk, but I don't have the car with me right now so that would be difficult. Thanks in advance.

Do I Have To Take My Stock Face Out Of My Vw

You could run the rear line level inputs into the the amp, then fiddle with the bass on the head unit. Ideally you will want it so that the front speakers are not distorting at all. Then you just mess with the amp settings until you get something that sounds decent.

    install almost complete....help!

Drilling a hole is not so bad as long as you seal it up real well and make sure the wire is not going to move. One of the best ways I have seen it done was with some silicon sealer (like used in aquariums), once that stuff solidfies you have to use a knife to get it off.

    My Pretty New Install

The components are currently being driven only by the internal amp (52x4 peak) of the CD player. Will post pics later, check it around lunch time.

    My Pretty New Install

The components sound incredible, I wired them with 16 gauge wire all around. The tweeters are picking up some kind of unidentified noise, I think it is because my crossovers are located on the floor of the car. If you are intrested I can post pics of them in the same gallery as the one the subs...
