    Typical fiberglass box cost?

marineeagle28, YGPM. Based on IDSkoT's pic I may end up just selling the Miata and buying a Cavalier, however.

    Typical fiberglass box cost?

I was having my wife's window's tinted yesterday and the shop was next to a stereo shop so I popped into talk to the owner. I asked about a rough estimate on fiberglass work and he said that the job would be about $750 + materials! He said it's a lot of hours of work and the materials can be...

Crossover points for Crystal SSX615 coaxes

Thanks! I'd like to think that fact will apply to my 9835 as well.

Crossover points for Crystal SSX615 coaxes

I've had no luck finding any information on this type of setup with a common negative. I'm tempted to start another thread as the original post has nothing to do with my current question.

Crossover points for Crystal SSX615 coaxes

Ok, I'm a little confused. The ground wire from the speaker tab should run to the deck's ground? I am also powering these from the deck itself using the onboard amp, if that makes a difference. My wiring scheme was to look like this (on the left side as an example) Front Left + to tweeter +...

Crossover points for Crystal SSX615 coaxes

Over at DIYMA I was told that the tweeter and woofer share a ground. I popped open the tiny little passive crossover and confirmed that. Does this mean I should run both negatives to the single ground if I'm going to be running active?

Crossover points for Crystal SSX615 coaxes

Not much response to this, I take it. Anyway, I planned to run some wires this weekend and try out some points (2000, 2500, etc.) at 24db slopes. Before I could try it out I decided to pull the speakers and I'm glad I did. Here's what I found: The top shows the rear terminals of which...

    type r component problem

I had a set of Type R components a few years ago. I agree that they were incredibly harsh initially, however they really mellowed out after a week or so of listening.

    Best Amp Kits

I used a Knu 8 awg kit for my wife's Basslink install. The connectors weren't the best but I had no problems with the wire which seems substantial enough for the application. The price was good and the quick delivery was a bonus.

    Typical fiberglass box cost?

In attempting to get the maximum amount of enclosure volume and preserve the most legroom in my Miata, I'm considering having my subwoofer box made out of fiberglass. What would be a fair quote for a good box? I can carpet it and even install the sub into the enclosure, but I'm not looking...

Noob question on speaker wire harness / adapter

I'm planning to drop an inexpensive pair of Infinity 6022si coaxes into my wife's Civic. I did a little research ahead of time and noticed they have a proprietary connector for the speakers with four wires coming out of it. I'm guessing the factory wired the tweeters in the sail panel wired in...

matching a component system to a deck

Any reason why you would think that? It should put out 26w RMS per channel @ 4 ohms, 14.4v and 1% THD, 20hz-20khz. That's the CEA-2006 standard. Now, I'm not kidding myself that it'll sound as clear as a dedicated class-A with great damping and ultra-low THD, but it's still 26w. I found a...

    6.5 comps

I had the Perfect 6.1s in my Miata years ago with a PPI PC2300.2. They were nice speakers but craved good power and a good signal. If you've got both (the Kicker will be plenty of power) then they will sound very good. They are relatively bright, but if you find them harsh the tweeter can be...

matching a component system to a deck

I'm trying to do a similar thing by driving a set of comps off the deck power of my Alpine 9835. It's a slightly different situation as the Alpine has a little more juice than most decks (26w rms) and I'd be able to run the comps actively so each driver would have its own channel. I haven't...

    Super-efficient comps for active setup

Those are some giant tweeters! As good as they might sound, I'm trying to keep a lower profile. I haven't found much info on the Mach 5 mids. They have lower sensitivity than the CX64s - are they really a better choice overall? I know they're inexpensive but how do they compare?
